Caring for my tutu
When you receive your tutu it may require a little bit of fluffing from shipping. Remove and immediately hang. Begin fluffing from the under layers of the skirt.
Storage-
Due to the nature of this fabric, it has a tendency to wrinkle or bunch up easily. I recommend storing on a hanger or if you prefer not to hang and will be storing in a bag, place the tutu waist down so the skirt is fluffing up.
Removing wrinkles-
One way to remove wrinkles is by hanging in your bathroom and running the hot water to create steam in the room. You may also use a steamer. I do not recommend using an iron on this fabric because it may melt.
Another recommendation is to mix 2 tablespoons of liquid fabric softener and 1 cup of warm water. Add to a spritz bottle and lightly mist the tutu and fluff with hands to smooth out the cling and wrinkles. Do this the day before pictures or an event and also carry the bottle with you on the day of. Be careful as to not saturate the tulle.
Washing-
If anything gets on the tutu, you can easily clean by taking the section that is affected and running this under water. Once the soiled area has been removed set aside to dry and fluff again as necessary. I do not recommend washing in the machine.
Pictures-
Make sure to have your little girl wear something else in the car and change into the tutu once she arrives at the venue.
When photographing babies sitting in the tutu I recommend sitting the baby on the back part of the skirt so the back layers don’t poke thru to be shown in the picture.
